Peace

Romans 8:6

KJV - 'For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.'  Romans 8:6  

NIV - 'The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace.'  Romans 8:6 

Sometimes we read over scripture, and the most significant thing we miss. Maybe it's not the words that escape us, but the impact of the application, as well as, what successful application would really look like in our lives. 

How many of us could use some peace? Think about the most peaceful moments in your life. Some of us my have to think a little harder than others, but try and remember at least one moment of complete peace and tranquility. 

Just think about how wonderful it would be if you could experience that same feeling of peace while navigating through your every day life!

The words, 'and peace,' from Romans 8:6, are essential to our every day existence. These two words indicate that I can walk in peace throughout my life just by maintaining a spiritual mindset. It will take practice, and the forming of new habits, but being able to walk in peace is definitely worth it.

Philippians 4:8 

KJV - 'Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.' Philippians 4:8 

NIV - 'Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.'  Philippians 4:8  

We have been trained by the enemy to think backwards. When stress, anxiety, frustration and anger arrive we typically dwell on those negative feelings, searching for resolution within ourself.  That is a reciprocating wheel of nothingness that we should never entertain. Instead, our first response should be to think about things through a 'Philippians 4:8' mindset, trusting for God's faithfulness and goodness in all things! We can have the peace that comes with that mindset! The enemy's schemes cause anxiety, stress, frustration, anger, and hurt, but the enemy's attacks won't be able to penetrate the peace that comes from having a spiritually strong mindset from heaven!
